According to the Guardian the kid from Love Actually/Nanny McPhee (or for the geekery- two eps of Doctor Who last season) has been cast as everyone's favorite Belgian for the TinTin Triology (god I love me some alliteration!). I'm not sure what to think except that I guess Freddie Highmore was asking for too much money. But seriously I can't believe the boy is almost 18! I swear he still looks like a fetus.

On the other hand, I guess I'm also feeling blah over the news since many moons ago I heard a rumor that Jamie Bell was in the front running since TinTin is being directed by his Billy Elliot director- Stephen Daldry. And you know how I feel about Jamie Bell. Did you see "Dear Wendy". I didn't think so.


[BTW: I'm really surprised that I haven't seen this reported/debated all over the comics blogs yet. I guess it's too Euro for North American fanboys.]

I don't like to give the Pop Colony seal of approval to movies that I haven't seen yet but Lee Pace makes me do crazy things. So here's the top 10 Reasons to see The Fall.

Fanboys!!!!

According to ever so reliable IMDB the release date has been set for January 14, 2008. From the clips I saw at Comic-Con this movie looks awesomely hilarious. Because who doesn't love Laura Dern??? I really wish I had a Yoda backback so I could make all the fanboys in the theater jealous. I guess I'll just have to make do with my Yoda pillow.

BTW: I really hope Heroes fanboys aren't in attendance or there is going to be a major rumble!

¡¡¡METEORO!!!

Manga to me means everything is "Over the Top". Thank god The Wachowskis see it my way since they're making Speed Racer like an even bigger LSD trip than Tim Burton's Willy Wonka. Can't wait to see this one!

Is it Wednesday Yet???-MOVIE EDITION!!!

I love the holiday season because it is all about gluttony. From the myriad of sales to the exhausting number of "holiday" films this is the best time of year for those who like shiny new things and movies (so in other words-me).

So here's how I will be spending my Thanksgiving Weekend in a country that "celebrated" it over a month ago.

Enchanted- You had me at Disney Metafiction! (And of course James Marsden)

August Rush-It just isn't the holidays without a movie that brings children and parents together in some endearing way. Which is a stark contrast to the usual way children and parents come together- Money &/or Food Transaction.

Hitman: I will watch ANYTHING with Timothy Olyphant. Yes, that includes Catch & Release. [Have The Powers That Be thought of pulling a Joss and doing a comic book Season 4 of Deadwood? Because I am in desperate need of some closure!]

The Mist: I have a confession to make: At Comic-Con the sight of Thomas Jane & Marcia Gay Harden a mere 6 inches from me caused me to go all Paparazzo on them. I seriously felt possessed. [End of confession] That totally doesn't even explain why I want to see this movie. In all honesty I don't know why I want to watch it. Perhaps it's because TBS won't let me forget that I love that scene in Deep Blue Sea where Samuel L. Jackson gets eaten by the shark. Ah, good times!
