WTF Moments in Pop Culture: Here's to Keanu becoming the Naked Chef

Keanu Reeves is going to be a chef in a movie directed by David Fincher. This is surely going to be some effed up shizz. Oh did I mention it's a love story without time travel? Here's to the love interest being Fincher-alum Jared Leto.

WTF Moments in Pop Culture: Bryce Dallas Howard-Lady in the HOT Water

Over at Hero Complex they have a quote from Ron Howard's tiny tot about Terminator: Salvation-
"This is a reinvention. We’re starting over. It’s incredible that it’s post Judgment Day' and it’s a completely different thing," said Bryce Dallas Howard, who plays the wife of John.
All I have in response to that is:
YOU CANNOT RE-INVENT A MASTERPIECE!!!

That scene still makes me cry.
Like a baby.
Every time.

Oh and Bryce Dallas- You better watch out for Linda Hamilton.
I bet she can still kick the shiz out of you.
Or just send Beast to do the job. SNIKT!

WTF Moments in Pop Culture: Will Chalker @ #34 on Models.com is unacceptable

Will Chalker is #34 on Models.com list of the top 50 models. That means that there are 33 "better" male models. This cannot be true. And I, Pop Colony, will prove it scientifically for the sake of all that is good in the world.

Exhibit A:
He's gone down the runway with a frakkin baby tiger in his hands.
Exhibit B:
Expertly pulls off a cowboy hat without resorting to irony.
Exhibit C:
I didn't even know Paco Rabanne was still around. But now I am indebted to them for providing the best window dressing for Sears on Robson ever.

I rest my case.
So Models.com get your act together and put Will in his rightful place at #1.

WTF Moments in Pop Culture: Lily Allen has a talk show

I guess I can file this under: things only the BBC can get away with

Lily Allen & Friends

At first I was reluctant to watch the show. Mostly because as an American I don't really have that variety show gene. But I gave it a shot. And it's not bad. Actually it's pretty fabulous. Lily's "friends" are not just the hip UK scenesters she associates with but also the humble stars of myspace & youtube. This mishmash of guests makes for an entertaining show filled with good music and Brticom "stars" whose name I always have to wiki.
Plus I have to give props simply for it not being a reality show.

WTF Moments in Pop Culture: McG Speaking

Over at the Ausiello Report on TV Guide they've got a recap of the 'Chuck' panel at the Paley Fest. Unfortunately McG was also there and decided to speak.

Geeking out: McG on the difference between a geek and a nerd: "Joss Whedon is a geek, J.J. Abrams is a nerd."

I have yet to see any 'JJ Abrams is My Master Now' shirts for sale.
But if someone decides to go there I suggest they use some Trekkie font/crap.
And then jump off a bridge.

WTF Moments in Pop Culture: Rihanna "Lemme Get That"

Am I going to have to invest in a Rihannican dictionary?

Wish I was in a flick
And I ain't talking movies
(Lemme Get That)
---
Seriously, what the hell is that suppose to mean?!!!

I know that their are a ton of songs with dubious usage of the English language but I find myself fixated on this lyric simply because the rest of the song actually makes sense (Fauxnetic spelling of 'Lemme' aside). Unfortunately my guide to the modern vernacular, Urban Dictionary, didn't shed any light into the connotative meaning of 'flick'. I hope that my ignorance won't lead me into an awkward social situation with some very angry Rihannicans.
If you can help me decipher the Rihannican language please comment.
