Gwyneth is Patrick Bateman (but without the ridunculous bod)

Gwyneth once again shares a morsel of her cultured soul with us poor masses via GOOP:
“The only one that is not free is Zagat, which I have an obsession with. I literally do not go out to eat until I reference it.
G somehow manages to sound more like Patrick Bateman than Patrick Bateman! And Lest we forget her affiliation with Huey Lewis which spawned a Chart Topping Single to boot (Bad Aussies!).
It will not come as a complete surprise to me if Gwyneth dishes next on her favorite NYC Dry Cleaners who coincidentally have no problems with verbal abuse for not adequately laundering her white linens.

[BTW: I know that you totally saw through my rant for what it really is-an excuse to post Christian Bale channeling his New Wave-Riche via a at-home tanning bed.

Batman definitely has a Messiah Complex

I caught the premiere of Justice League: New Frontier at WonderCon last week and it was surprisingly good. But with David Boreanaz, Neil Patrick Harris, Kyle MacLachlan, and Lucy Lawless in the cast I knew I was going to enjoy it regardless of any artistic value (which it has plenty of thanks to the genius of Darwyn Cooke). Most importantly I got to hear Jeremy Sisto as Batman. Back at Comic-Con the reaction by fans to Jeremy was well...not that positive. Thankfully Bruce Timm stepped in and comforted our hypercritical comic nerd minds with reassurance that Jeremy was doing some serious justice to Batman. Though I must admit from the point of a rabid B:TAS fan I don't know why Kevin Conroy can't be the voice of Batman....forever. Anways, Jeremy did a good job with Batman by emphasizing that he's the outcast of the group. You know because his only super powers are good looks and billions of dollars. Damn he's the best.

Hearing Jeremy also reminded me that he's not the first Batman to play Jesus on a network miniseries. Prompting me to ask "Is the Bat Signal the new Star of Bethlehem?"[Val Kilmer voiced Moses/God in "Prince of Egypt".
And I didn't want to deny you guys of a Val Kilmer pic!]

HOLY BIBLE, BATMAN!

Not to leave my fave Batman out...Michael Keaton is voicing ark navigator Noah in Noah's Ark:The New Beginning an animated film coming out this year. Eliza "air punch" Dushku and Jason Lee also lend their voices to the non-Veggie Tales religious animated film.

Advisory: Don't get my started on Clooney.

Pop Culture Case Study: Music Men make the best Superheroes

This ongoing series is going to look at the correlation between being a song and dance man and a fantastic movie comic book hero. Am I just a musical nut who also loves comic books and is trying to bring both beautiful worlds together? Absolutely! But I’ll let you see the connection for yourself.

Part 1: Christian Bale - Bruce Wayne/Batman

• Bale’s Batman was born out of the pages of the best (ie=darker) Batman comic books. He’s just as noir as can be. Thankfully that just happens to be my ideal Batman-smart, angsty, but still charming with a dash of dry-wit.

• If you haven’t seen Newsies at least a dozen times drop everything buy the DVD and prepared to get enlightened. I mean if you don’t cry when he sings “Santa Fe” I’ll personally come and punch you in the gut until the streams of pure musical joy come out of your eye ducts. Yes, it’s that fantastic!

Newsies was directed/choreographed by Kenny Ortega. Now if you don’t know who he is be prepared to look 10 years younger (and wiser)……….He’s also the Emmy winning director of Disney’s insanely popular High School Musical and its sequel…..High School Musical…..wait for it…..2!!!!!
